The Charles Darwin Research Station is one of the most visited sites in Puerto Ayora-Santa Cruz. This institution, together with the Galapagos National Park, lead conservation efforts in the Galapagos.

At the Charles Darwin Research Station, visitors can learn about the natural and anthropological history of the Galapagos. Here there are several rooms where information about the flora and fauna of the Galapagos is presented in a didactic and visual way. Also, you can visit the breeding center of Galapagos (giant tortoises) and land iguanas. Finally, within the Charles Darwin Research Station there is a small beach of white sand and crystal clear waters where visitors can dive and snorkel.

It is recommended to do the visit in the company of a local naturalist guide as he or she can answer any additional questions the visitor may have and elaborate on the explanations displayed. The entrance to the Charles Darwin Research Station has no cost: however, all visitors who wish to contribute to the work of this institution for the conservation of Galapagos can buy souvenirs for friends and relatives in the store of the institution, or make voluntary donations.
